It's normal, healthy, human behaviour to want to celebrate when we do something well, and as you say, it enhances audience pleasure too. When I volunteered to coach basketball at North Idaho Christian School A-4 level, it was a new sport...not only at the school but to the kids. HA! We were at Mullan playing and one of our players made a free throw...in pre-game warm-ups...and the cheerleaders went crazy and did a huge cheer! It was fun. I did explain to them a couple of days later that cheers were usually reserved for when actual points were scored in the game. Wish I hadn't. Cheers and enthusiasm are fun. One must always remember the first two rules of sports...1.It doesn't matter if you win or lose, so long as you look good doing it. 2.
