Thursday 13 - Songs I Never Pass On - 6/5/08

I have several hundred songs on the playlist that randomly plays on the IPOD in my car. Depending upon my mood I often skip songs as soon as the intro begins. These are 13 songs that I never pass on. I am never out of the mood to hear any of them. There are many more but these came to mind first:

1. Bed of Roses – Bon Jovi



2. You Shook Me All Night Long – AC/DC



3. Pride and Joy – Stevie Ray Vaughn



4. Nessun Dorma – Luciano Pavarotti – one of the highlights of my life is seeing him live in Hyde Park in London from right in front of the stage – for free (London Rocks)



5. I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing – Aerosmith



6. Faithfully – Journey



7. Can’t Let Go – Lucinda Williams



8. Cry – Angie Aparo



9. Eruption – Van Halen



10. Born To Run – Bruce Springsteen



11. The Flame – Cheap Trick



12. Like a Hurricane – Neil Young



13. Not Fade Away – Buddy Holly

    Last week I did my T13 on my iPod songs...I have most of those, but I don't know who the person under Lucinda was. Good list.

    You've got some great tunes on that IPod, everything from Buddy Holly to Pavarotti.
    Buddy Holly, Springstien, Neil Diamond, and Lucinda Williams would trip my trigger. Stevie Ray Vaughn is a great choice as well.

    every time i think of bon jovi,, i recall the birth of mtv,, and know in the bottom of my heart,, that it influenced me greatly in getting divorced.. i wanted to be in love,, and passionate and exude sex like they did on mtv.. not work six days a week be in a boring, sexually challenged marriage and raise a couple of kids.. it didn't take a year,, and i was outta there....

    cant say i have much taste for bon jovi or mtv these days....

    Funny how fickle music tastes are. Some of those, I'd never pass on, either. And some of those, I couldn't pass fast enough.

    I feel very fortunate to have very unfickle, eclectic music tastes. It opens me up to a larger world than those with narrow vision. I am also fortunate to have never had a TV network affect my life. If that is possible I would watch out for religious cults.
    By the way, MTV launched 3 years before Bon Jovi released his first album. Maybe you are blaming an innocent man. Maybe it was Air Supply or Journey that destroyed your marriage.

    Great list Rick, I like how varied your taste in music is. I also can go from Cannon in D by Pachelbel to.. Enter sandman by metallica! Maybe this means we're both wackos??
    And both songs are on my DO NOT SkIP list! :))

    I love YOUR list! I can see your taste in music is as varied as mine. Some times I feel like country, other times rock and some times even oldies or opera. And just to let you know, I would never pass on “He Stopped Loving Her Today” (George Jones).

    Cruise the boulevard in MB with the top down, and play your music loud. :)
