MBWhale - you are a writer, everytime you post. :) I responded to your message on my post. . .and am trying to figure out if I know you. (Probably do, since I grew up in the Silver Valley also.) Same time frame. Which one are you in the Pic?

Well, I would like to say that I am the one on the left, but that is my son Josh. I am the old fart on the right. I grew up in Smelterville. Lived right by the "city" park. We probably knew each other.

I just wanted to say that I enjoyed your post. My father served in the military for 22 years and like you said, he doesn't talk much about 'Nam. The most he talks about his career is good friends that he made.

I know it may sound corny, but I want to thank you for the time you served our country! I have much respect for you and all that have served! Thanks!

There is nothing corny about that at all. I make a point to thank vets when I come across them. I am particularly fond of the WWII Vets, as there are not many of them left. They are true heroes. We would all be speaking German or Japanese if not for them. I appreciate your thanks. It made my day. Please keep in contact and thank your dad too.
