55 Flash Fiction Friday - 3 Word Wednesday -Validate, Rabble, Disarray - 2/11/09

Combining two great MEMEs: G-Man's 55 Flash Fiction Friday and 3 Word Wednesday is a fun challenge. I recommend you try it. This week's three words are: disarray, validate, and rabble. My fractured imagination came up with these 55 words:

They were back.
The cornfield was in disarray once again.
She no longer attempted to validate her claims.
It would just end with more ridicule from the rabble of the small Iowa town.
She had learned to control her terror and lead a “normal” life.
Anyway, it was time to get Klynor5 up for school.

Ha! Great ending. And so rich, in just 55 words. I do my own meme, Fiction in 58. Been doing it for years.

Starring Karen Allen. Sounds a bit like a sequal to Starman with bits of Signs added in.

I liked this alot, the end was a great surprise. co

Ha ha ha! That kid's going to be a linebacker for sure. With a name like that in a small Iowa town, he's going to want to pad up and HIT someone pretty regularly.

Interesting images, though the Klynor5 has me stumped. It sounds like it must be an allusion to something, though what is a mystery, unless she is member of that infamous quintuplet consisting of Skrubber4, Skourer3, Purger2, and Purifier1...

Loved it!
You know it is much harder than people think to tell a story in 55 words but you did a great job.

Mona: This is fiction but thinking about it, certainly she would attend school. No child left behind. Her name is not any more odd than Shanequa, Morpheus, or Deadmau5, which exist. She is certainly no stranger looking than a lot of the kids who I see on the street. She could easily pass for a Goth chick.

"She be passin'"! What a hoot! I love it.

Nice twist... Guess I have to throw in my own "movie hybrid" too huh? How about "V - The Final Battle" meets "Species"?
