Thursday 13 - Favorite Movies - 2/27/08

My thirteen favorite movies of all time or at least the first ones that come to mind. No particular order, just as I think about them: If a film has a sequel it will only be listed once even if I loved the sequels too, like Lethal Weapon. I am pretty much talking here about entertainment value, not masterpieces. I loved African Queen, Casablanca, and Citizen Kane, but they aren’t going to make the list. I am only going back a number of years. Hey, I gotta put limitations on this to get it down to 13. There are also no chick flicks here but I do like some of those too. I think that Love, Actually is one of the best ever. If that is truly a chick flick. I have also included a clip from each movie. If you want to view them hit pause on my jukebox or you will drive yourself nuts.

1) My Cousin Vinny

2) Field of Dreams

3) Shawshank Redemption

4) Silence of the Lambs

5) Fargo

6) Slingblade

7) A Fish Called Wanda

8) Jaws

9) Terminator

10) The Unforgiven

11) Rain Man

12) A Few Good Men

13) Pulp Fiction

Great choices. A couple of my favorites are in there. I think Unforgiven is a real classic. My Cousin Vinny is hilarious and so is A Fish Called Wanda.

Actually, I like pretty much all of those!

These are great choices- I'm with you on Shawshank Redemtion, A Few Good Men, My Cousin Vinny and A Fish Called Wanda. Also- Love Actually- I loved that one too!
I don't know Unforgiven- I'm going to have to look that one up.

Mind you- I didn't know any of the movies at this year's Oscars- (apart from Juno which I haven't seen yet...) Boy, that made me feel 'out of touch'!!

Love the T13, esp when you include the clips for us- thank you!!

Good selections! We have most of them (meaning we liked them enough to buy the video or DVD). The only one I haven't seen is Jaws. I know. Eventually, I do intend to watch it.

Pulp Fiction is one of my husband's favorites. The best one on your list, IMHO, is Shawshank Redemption. I don't usually watch movies more than once unless they're really good, and that's one. Slingblade and Silence of the Lambs, and maybe even Rainman, too. Great post.

Getting to know you.....getting to know all about you.....sung in the tune of the King and I!

Many good ones there, loved Cousin Vinny, Silence of the Lambs very good but I usually hate violent movies. I've seen them all but Slingblade. Somehow I expected more comedies from you!! Rush Hour at least!

I could watch each of those movies (except Slingblade - never heard of nor seen that) over again, and a few over and over again. Great choices! And Love Actually is much more than a chick-flick, in my opinion.

I was scared to death of Silence of the Lambs. I still jump when I watch it.
