There exists certain music that as soon as I hear the opening riff I immediately, and involuntarily, reach for the volume control of whatever device I am listening to, and crank it up. This compilation is certainly not comprehensive, just the first tunes that came to mind. Sorry, but I was totally unable to limit this list to thirteen. Those of you that are fans of classic rock will understand why. I did keep it down to 125 though. They are in no particular order. The entire list is available here for your listening pleasure. Turn it up and enjoy. I invite reader comments and suggestions of songs I might have overlooked. You can hear the songs here.

We have very similar taste in music. Great list! Happy T13!
Some of those bring back some very happy memories.
happy thanksgiving rick... thank you for a year filles with fun,, laughter and occasionally a "nothin' but nasty" email......
i am thankful for being able to count you among my friends....
Wow! Great list. The first one that comes to mind that I didn't see is Cheap Trick - Surrender. (Was it on there? It is a long list!)
Happy Thanksgiving!
Adelle:
Then you have excellent taste. LOL
Nicholas:
As I was compiling this list, memories flooded my brain. As well as the realization of how long ago most of these were recorded, and how timeless they are.
Mary:
Good call. I had included "I Want You To Want Me" by Cheap Trick but "Surrender" is deserving too. I have added it to my playlist.
Paisley:
Thanks for the nice words. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Skooter and I will be pigging out and watching some football.
Love all that music! My favorites are on your list. But, do you need to learn to count again? LOL! Great T80! BTW, Radar Love is the best driving song!
Lol...great list. Sometimes it is extremely hard to keep it down to 13.
Happy Thanksgiving MBR!!!
Yep! we are definitely from the same era. I know nearly all of these great hits even though I am on the other side of the world to you. You even had some aussie bands listed in there. Good taste mate.
This list took me back to loud music and crazy dancing at the Northwest Medals Friday night dances in Kellogg. Great list.
Great list and so glad to see Joan Jett on there. Two that came to mind for me were With a Little Help From My Friends and Drift Away. Carly
great list you have, i downloaded about half of it to my mp3 player
