Sunday Scribblings - I Just Don't Get It - 3/23/08

The Sunday Scribblings prompt this week is "I Just Don't Get It." The first thing that came to mind was "Where does the time go?" This is a photo journey through the lives of my three children. These dramatic transitions took place in the blink of an eye. John Lennon said it best: “Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans”.

Josh - Born 9/30/1974 Clark AB, Philippines

What a beautiful, heartwarming post. You have a beautiful family, and your love for all of them shines right through your post.

My own children are still young, and it boggles my mind to think that someday, probably sooner than I can imagine, they will be all grown up.

An absolutely loving beautiful tribute to your family Mr. Rick. That line from Beautiful Boy, has always been one of my all time favorites. This was truly touching.
( Happy Easter my friend, hope you are spending it with this beautiful family)

This was such a relaxing post - the music made growing years of your family pass with such love and joy. It is obvious to see you were and are a devoted father. How blessed your children and grandchildren are. And I agree, I just don't get how fast the years went- one day I was delivering my daughter and the next day I was planning her wedding - one day my son came into the world 4 weeks overdue and the next day he was leaving for the Navy - and a couple of days later they both have families complete with children and dogs. Amazing times. Happy Easter.

Nice way to get your "I just don't get it" across. Those kids do grow up fast. I have 4 of my own and I sure miss when they were about 3 years of age. Sooo cute.

God, when Carly's head is tilted to the side, like that, she looks just like you. And yes, time does go by fast, too fast, that is why I whole heartedly believe that you should make the best of each day.

As I looked at the pictures of your family, I thought of a saying that I read somewhere....a picture's meaning can express ten thousand words. I think that is what I saw.

Beautiful tribute.

It was so interesting to see the timelines of their lives. I saw a picture of Carly when I was in Kellogg when she was in high school and knew immediately who she was related to. I must say all of them have parts of you and their mother. Amazing post. Thanks for sharing.Knowing what they have all been able to accomplish you must be so proud and how fortunate to have them all close by!

Beautiful, beautiful...

Photographs of smiling children, becoming adults, having children - set to music (sigh)... beautiful.

Yes, time is a slippery thing, isn't it? And there's nothing that makes time more slippery than growing children.

Loved this.

Since you are two of the very few women who's opinion I value, I will try to come up with some photos of my little life.
